Mark Pieterson
Bio-
Born in Accra, Ghana in 1990, Mark emigrated to the USA in 2001. His work and practice centers heavily around the folk art tradition of image making. Taking queues from past and contemporary artists as well as modern cartography, Mark utilizes both illustrator and Photoshop in creating visually stimulating collage and drawn drawn pieces that explore depths of color, space, and textures. The goal of every image is to invite the viewer into a phantasmagoric and absurd landscape reminding the audience of the spirit of child-like fantasies. Mark currently attends the University of North Carolina att Chapel Hill majoring in Geography though his main interest is image-making.
